What is the key to your success?

That is the question I was asked the other day when I was invited by my business mentor to be interviewed ahead of new product she is soon to launch.

I’d planned carefully for the interview but to be perfectly honest this question caught me off guard. I have only ever considered myself on the road to success, but still caught myself saying, “I think the most important thing is self belief in everything you do. You have to want something badly enough so that you will go all out to get it, if you allow any doubt to get in the way then you will face greater obstacles along the way.

I am both focused and committed to where I am going and although I don’t always know the answer, that isn't a reason to give up. You have to start somewhere with the skills you possess today. I have totally immersed myself in reading business and marketing books and attending many workshops over the last four years, learning constantly how I can grow and improve myself personally and in my business.

Taking action, any action is better than no action.”

When I heard the interview recording played back it made me realise just how far I’d come in four short years.

Whether you have been in business for two weeks, two months or two years, are you ready to take your business to the next level?

What will be the keys to your success?

Why NOW is a good time to set up in Business

Okay so the economy isn’t so good right now, but isn’t this just another excuse to put off starting what you have always dreamed of? 54% of women start a business so they can choose the hours they work, freeing up more time to spend with their families and carryout activities that have been long neglected. They’ve had enough of the commute and the drudgery of nine to five. They have the determination and tenacity to do something different.

So if it isn’t the credit crunch, what other blocks are you putting in your way? Starting a business means taking a risk, but if that is your excuse, let me remind you so is crossing the road.

Maybe you fear failure? How will you know unless you give it a go? Most entrepreneurs have made numerous mistakes along the route to success, in fact, it’s because we have made mistakes, we reflect and learn how to become more effective. I recently read that laminated glass, where a thin sheet of plastic is sandwiched between two sheets of glass was produced by accident. See mistakes have a real purpose to teach us something.

Goethe, said “Whatever you can do, or dream you can ……begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it”.

You have to decide to make the first step because the longer you wait for the perfect timing, whatever your excuse, opportunities will be passing you by. Once you make the decision you will be amazed by your inner genius, power and magic to make things happen.

What are you waiting for? Rome wasn’t built in a day, but someone had to set the ball rolling and lay the first building block.

48 Days to go and Counting

Yesterday, I held two vital meetings to pull together my plans for the Business Accelerator launch networking party on October 23rd. After just a few minutes with my VA (virtual assistant) Tracy, my mind was buzzing with ideas for the pending event. I am adamant to send out ‘proper’ invitations, so if Tracy has emailed you requesting your postal address please remember to reply.

Later in the day, I met with Rachel, who is dealing with the entire Business Accelerator PR, again after only a few minutes my mind was in a whirl. This time with thoughts of press releases, final copies to approve, photographs to select.

As the launch draws closer I am increasingly grateful to my support network who are working to enable the launch run smoothly and effectively and essentially allowing me to get on with the business side of things, writing material and preparing the new products that will be available from September 29th.

What I am really excited about and finding harder and harder to keep under wraps is the new teleclass series that I will be announcing very soon. It will certainly be of interest to you whether you are:

In the process of starting out and feel overwhelmed with what to do or where to go next
Or perhaps you have been in business for sometime but feel confused and frustrated that your efforts aren’t achieving the results you’d hoped for.

In these calls we will be revealing our very own top tips and secrets of our success that you too can implement into your business strategy.

What’s more there is even a FREE preview teleclass so you can test out for yourself the value this programme has to offer.

Don't forget to come back and read the Business Accelerator blog as we begin our countdown.

Living Life On Your Terms

I’m just back from a 5 day break to Disneyland Paris, and what a fantastic time we all had. As we drove back towards Calais yesterday I recalled that this was the exact reason why I wanted to be self employed. To live life on my terms.

A few years ago my pace of life was way too fast and I spent far too much time doing things I didn’t really want to be doing and very little time following my dreams.
I was working in adult education and with three children felt stressed and tired most of the time. When I became pregnant with my fourth child something just had to give. I was spending more than two hours a day commuting to and fro the college and I could no longer manage to keep all the balls up in the air.

It was time to do something for myself and I trained as a coach with The Coaching Academy. That’s only the start of the story, what I hadn’t realised was, despite having a distinction and an advanced coaching qualification I had no idea how to get any clients let alone set up a business.

My coach training gave me a distinct advantage over many of the other 620, 000 women who also set up in business each year– I knew how to set effective goals. I also spent a huge amount of time knowing and understanding my own personal values and what was truly important to me in life, I’d worked on my own self limiting beliefs and knew my personal strengths.

So I set myself some powerful goals, identifying where I wanted to be in 1, 2 and 5 years time and set out to achieve them. After all if you don’t know where you are heading, how are you ever going to get there?

In my fr** report, 7 Reasons Why Small Businesses Fail And How YOU Can Avoid Them, I go into more detail as to why goal setting is crucial. (To receive your copy, just send me an email info@allisonmarlowe.com with FR** report in the header)

How do I know these answers? Well, for the past four years I’ve studied the habits of successful people, had the opportunity to pick the brains of Jonathon Jay the original founder of The Coaching Academy and had the privilege to dine with the likes of Brian Tracy, author of Goals and one of America’s leading authorities on the development of human potential and personal effectiveness.

This week I’ve continued living my dream, to be able to take time out of my business to spend quality, fun time with my family, living life and enjoying the pleasures my children consistnetly bring.

Are you living life on your terms?
Do you know where you are heading?
Do you know what prevents you from getting what you want in business or in your personal life?
Then perhaps we should talk, The Business Accelerator programme can help you to discover what holds you back in your business and show you how to set powerful goals that will get you on track to your own personal and business success.
