Do you see problems as a negative?
You may have gathered I haven’t made a blog posting recently and that’s because I have had a few technical problems. It happens to even the best of us. None of us are immune to adversity, but even then we still have a choice. We can either accept what’s happening as part of the process or become discouraged.
I know for me, without being able to rely on my trusty computer, twice within the space of a fortnight I experienced a sense of loss of control. How was I going to manage my emails? How would I be able to send out that important follow up message? How could I arrange this that and the other when all the information I needed was on that computer? Well the thing is we do survive, we do get through periods of difficulty however difficult they feel at the time.
The trick I think is to bounce back quickly, take responsibility rather than blame others and maintain your self belief. The sooner you can learn to do this and accept that problems or events in your life are actually happening to help guide us, bring us more or new opportunities to learn and adjust our thinking the sooner we will be back on track.
Norman Vincent Peale once said, “There is only one group of people that don’t have problems’ – and they are all dead.”

Womens Enterprise Day
Did you know today was Women’s Enterprise Day, a day designed to galvanise budding female entrepreneurs and employees across the UK to think big and aim high, despite the difficult economic climate.
The day is well supported by female entrepreneurs including Penny Newman, Chief Executive of Fifteen, and C4 Secret Millionaire Margaret Heffernan. Jacqueline Gold, Chief Executive of Ann Summers, says: “I feel passionately about encouraging female enterprise. When I started out at 21 there were very few businesswomen and today there still aren’t as many as there should be. Women’s Enterprise Day not only encourages women to succeed in business, it inspires them to follow their dreams and goals and put their great ideas into action.”
Alex Ritchie, Women’s Enterprise Campaigner at Make Your Mark, says: “Women’s Enterprise day empowers more women to make their ideas a reality, by highlighting the inspirational achievements of the UK’s many success stories and by giving them the information they need to make their mark.
“This year we’re encouraging women to aim high and think big when setting up in business, growing existing ventures or as employees. From ideas yet to be launched to kitchen table businesses, we’d like them all to consider their growth potential and, who knows, some may even end up as global empires!”

Sent with a K.I.S.S.
The expression "Keep It Simple, Stupid” came to mind this morning when I was pondering what to write about for today’s blog posting. So I thought I would start the week by sending you a KISS.
In the world of marketing we are often reminded to simplify things.
Here are three reasons why.
1. You waste valuable time thinking about the perfect resource you are about to create – just get on and do it, create it, deliver it.
2. Likewise don’t wait until your project/resource/service is perfect – you can always tweak it later. Some of the most valuable resources are the simple ones.
3. A confused mind never buys, people want things that are easy to use and understand. Don’t over complicate matters.
As Albert Einstein once said "everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler

Are you a business giver?
We all live in a world of give and take, when something in nature becomes unbalanced mother earth has a wonderful way of adapting and adjusting so it can return to a state of stability, and the very same thing happens in business, by leading with an offer, something to give you naturally pave the way for something to be given in return.
Information marketing is, in my mind the way to go, many small businesses are even following this route without realising they are doing so. Offering a free report, free consultation, free email newsletter, a free cd, or dvd. The options are pretty endless.
So why is this so effective? Well , just one reason is that people buy from those they like know and trust. Offering something for free is an initial step in building a relationship with your potential clients, from there you can go and develop and nurture those relationships keeping in regular contact until that potential client is ready to buy.
If you believe in the laws of the universe just remember,
Give first and you shall receive.

Boosting your Productivity
This past week I've noticed a reoccuring theme popping up for my Business Accelerator clients. One couldn't wait until the end of the week when she would be jetting off for some well deserved R&R. Another mentioned how tired and demotivated she was feeling and a third felt totally overwhelmed with her work load.
What I have discovered is that taking time out really is the key to boosting productivity.
I regularly block out days in my diary, special time, set aside just for me, free from family or work responsibilities and routines. I call them my 'Be nice to me days' which are penned into my diary regardless of how busy I am. After all if we don’t take essential care of ourselves, put ourselves first occasionally how useful will we be for our clients. When you're running a business YOU are the most important asset. Thomas Leonard, who was a key player in the field of personal and business coaching once said 'Without you, there is nothing.'
If you are serious about improving the quality of your business and personal life, you too need to block out ‘be nice to me days’ and NOW is a good time to start, it doesn’t matter what you do on your day so long as it removes you from the minutiae of everyday routines.
Diarise your ‘be nice to me day’, put it in your schedules and make the commitment and watch your productivity soar.

Are you a Business Professional or Amateur
Today I have been reviewing the content for my telelclass that kicks off tomorrow and as I reviewed my notes I was reminded of something my business mentor shared with me a couple of years ago about the difference between a professional and an amateur in business.
I know for sure that I spent several years 'playing' at having a business, an amateur in the true sense of the word. It wasn't that I would wake up in the morning and think "Oh, I don’t feel very motivated this morning, I can’t be bothered to make those follow up calls today" but more a case of not always knowing what or how to reach my business goals. This really held me back and I spent endless months procrastinating trying to work out the right way forward.
A professional on the other hand will just get on and do the things they need to do whether they feel like it or not. they will find away a solution to keep moving forward.
A professional won't procrastinate they will have the necessary mindset that says, " I am going to do one small thing every single day to grow my business".
Now, just imagine this is you. Over a course of one year, 365 days, just think of the difference how taking one small tiny step every daily would impact on your business.
What are you putting off in your business?
Why not commit today to taking one small step every day?
